Peyote stich

Hello,

today I am going to write about peyote stich. Many cultures around the world have used peyote stitch in their beadwork. Examples of peyote stitch have been found in artifacts from Ancient Egypt, and the stitch has also been used in historic and contemporary Native American beadwork. The name "peyote stitch" derives from the use of this stitch to decorate objects used in peyote ceremonies by members of the Native American Church. 
The peyote stitch, also known as the gourd stitch, is an off-loom bead weaving technique. Peyote stitch may be worked with either an even or an odd number of beads per row. Both even and odd count peyote pieces can be woven as flat strips, in a flat round shape, or as a tube. 
It is a simple technique, a very meditive one, and with only a few colours of same size beads, you can get really nice results.

The generalised meaning of feathers signified honor & connected the owner with the Creator and the bird the feathers came from. Native Indian warriors were awarded a feather when they took coup or were particularly brave in battle. When a feather falls to earth, the Native Americans believe it carries all of the energy of its former attachment on a bird to a living being. Feathers are perceived as gifts from the sky, the sea and the trees. Feathers arrive unexpectedly, but not without purpose.

SPIRAL EARRINGS or - I am perfect just the way I am

Somethimes the best thing we can do for us is to give up what we wish, and allow that what really belongs to us to come in our life. In my wish to create a supertruper extra complicated special earrings, I remembered the words above. This spiral earrings are made to support the rememberance of who we truely are... and as Bridget Jones said that: "I am perfect just the way I am."
 So I am posting tutorial for this earrings and feel perfect 😉

All you need are pliers 0,5 mm wire and 2,6 mm seed beads and 2 earrings hooks.
First you make a small wire loop and than start picking the beads on the wire and wrapping them around the loop. You pick as many beads as you like, depending on a size of a spiral that you want to create.

This is my first blogging ever. My name is Darini and I like many things. My passion is beading. So I will write about beading. I started beading about 2 years ago, when my mom died. I discovered, that sewing beads one by one, calms me down and puts me in the meditative state of mind, lighting up the heavines I felt at that time. So I continued beading, every single day.
